Let’s jump straight into it!
Step 1:Â Start your Kanban Board in Google Sheets by creating a table with the following headers:
- Date: To note down the date when the project started
- Project Name: To note down the project name
- Project Detail: To note down the aim of the project
- Assignee: To assign the project to a person
- Current Status: To note down the current status of the project
- Comments: To leave any comments related to the project
Step 2: Create a separate table to note down variables that you will use to create a dropdown for Assignee and Current Status.
Step 3: Next, Create a drop-down list for the Assignee column. Select the cell range for the Assignee column and right-click on your mouse or trackpad, then go to View More Cell Actions and Click on Data Validation.
Step 4: In the Data Validation Menu, click Add Rule and select the criteria Drop-down (from a range).
Step 5: Select the range with the Team Members, assign a color to each team member and click Done.
Step 6: Create a Drop-down for the Current Status column similar to the one created for the Assignee column.
And you are done! You have successfully created a Kanban Board in Google Sheets. You can start using the Kanban Board by adding the relevant values to the different sections. Here’s how your board should look once filled with values:
